I'm contemplating a Japanese hydrangea vine for a stretch of sunny wall. However, I already have plants in the bed in front of the wall, and can't find much information about the clearance I'll need to leave between the wall and plants in front of the vine (so I can work out what I need to move/redesign. If anyone has grown or has experience of this climber, I'd be grateful for a rough idea of the clearance needed. Thanks!

Hydrangea hydrangeoides or the Japanese climbing Hydrangea vine will need around 45cm of clearance once its in full growth.
What may be best is to move any existing plants that need full sun further forward and then consider adding plants that can tolerate shade under the vine.
