Yellow leaves on peace lily
Hey everyone,
My peace lily has been doing well for about two years now, but lately the lower leaves keep going yellow and turning soft. At first I thought it was just older leaves naturally dying off, but it's spread to five or six of them and I'm getting a bit worried.
It sits in bright indirect light, I water roughly once a week when the soil feels dry on top, and it's still in the original nursery pot with drainage. I haven't repotted or given it any fertilizer in over a year.
I found this article that's been really helpful for understanding the basics. From what I've read, it could be overwatering, a light issue, or a nutrient deficiency. I've been letting the soil dry out more between waterings, but so far that hasn't helped. On the bright side, the newer growth still looks healthy, it's just the older leaves at the bottom that are yellowing.
Would love to hear from anyone who's dealt with something like this. Should I be thinking about repotting, fertilizing, or trying something different? I'm trying not to change too many things at once but I'm not sure what to tackle first. Any suggestions would be great!
