Garden Design help for 2 little girls and would like to grow stuff

As the title suggests looking for some advice. There's a small patio area that isn't photographed.

On this hill bit I was thinking of a small swing and a slide installed by our builder into the hillside so it's safe.

Any advice on hillside vegetable planting would be great, the side where the yellow shed is gets all the light. Plan is to move the yellow shed to that small patio area pictured at the moment and functions a bit like a greenhouse.

Our builders had cleared the other side but you can see lots of new plants growing there. Wondering how to get rid of it to allow for planting or clearing for the slide/swing. Weedkiller?

Open to all ideas as we still have out builders finishing bits. Thanks in advance.

    Hi @t0d

I saw your post about needing garden design advice, and I just wanted to say you’re absolutely not alone. However, this doesn't fall into Garden Design territory, which isn't something this forum provides (see forum rules). Which is exactly why I created my online garden design coursesto help everyday gardeners like you design beautiful, functional gardens without the stress (or the hefty price tag of a full redesign).

My online garden design courses are packed with practical advice, video walkthroughs, and real-world examples to help you understand layout, structure, planting, and how to avoid the most common mistakes. Whether you’re working with a blank slate or trying to fix a garden that just doesn’t work, there’s a course to suit you.

If you’re after something more personalised, I also offer online garden design consultations, where I work with you 1-to-1 to create a bespoke plan tailored to your space, lifestyle, and budget. Think of it as having your own garden designer in your corner — wherever you are in the world.

    All the best

    Lee Garden Ninja

Strange. So asking advice on where to place things in a garden, how to adapt something into a hill and where to move things is not a garden design?
